Refractive Nav and Console Design
The gif on the right walks you through the refractive navigation and collapsible Data Access Request console. On the left, we have the preliminary organization for datasets, along with a few iterations before landing on the final design. Prior to this redesign, datasets would appear as single entities, rather than grouped by DAR ID, so our DACs would have to navigate hundreds of individual datasets! Built with Sketch and Figma.

Javascript-fueled Interactive Visualizations
Wanna see how I code? Visit a “Vizfolio” I coded entirely from scratch containing three data visualizations coded in P5.js, Leaflet.js, and D3.js. Right-click to inspect and discover meticulous and hilarious code comments. This was completed as part of my master’s degree requirements in 2022.

Scientific Illustration and Information Design
I spent 11 years as a scientific illustrator/designer and loved every minute of it. This schematic shows how Alzheimer’s disease affects neurons. Published in Cell, 2013. You can see it on my Behance page, where most of my scientific illustration and design work lives.

I started writing on Medium to fulfill a requirement for a graduate behavioral design class. After publishing the fifth article, UX Bootcamp picked me up as an author, so I write for them now :)

In my spare time, I create mixed media paintings to detox from the digital. This portrait of David Bowie was created using a 3-step rubber and ink method. My fine art portfolio is available by request only.
